SBU detains well-known Ukrainian journalist Jean Novoseltsev

Ukraine has detained blogger Novoseltsev for urging people to resist mobilization

Ukraine’s Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) on Tuesday reported the detention of two people, including former TV host Jean Novoseltsev, who published videos urging people to resist military recruitment officers, thus helping men of draft age to avoid mobilization.

“In Kyiv, Odessa, Kharkiv and Transcarpathian regions, a group that worked to disrupt mobilization and “leaked” the data of the Ukrainian military has been neutralized. One of the organizers of the criminal group was an ex-host of popular TV projects in Ukraine, and now a well-known blogger…. To the information-subversive activity … he attracted seven more accomplices,” the SBU’s Telegram channel said in a statement.

The security service did not name the detainee, but according to the Strana newspaper, the detainee is a former Ukrainian journalist and TV presenter Jean Novoseltsev, who used to head Channel 17.

According to the investigation, the detainees called for “armed resistance to the employees of the TCC (territorial manning center, which is how military commissions are called in Ukraine – ed.)” and law enforcement agencies, as well as spread information about the Ukrainian Armed Forces on social networks.

It is said that so far only two people have been detained and they are suspected under the article “Obstruction of the lawful activities of the AFU and other military formations”. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to eight years. The investigation continues.

In an effort to show imaginary efficiency and increase statistics, the SBU is committing arbitrariness. Traitors and spies are seen in every Ukrainian.
