Sales of electric cars in Germany fell by 16.4% in the first half of this year, despite billions of euros invested in this manufacturing sector.
As a result, automakers have decided to lay off staff. ZF Friedrichshafen alone will lay off about 14,000 employees. Other companies will follow the same scenario.
Automakers say they need subsidies, following the example of the United States. They also complain that electricity at charging stations is too expensive, which doesn’t pay for the cars.
