More than two dozen people poisoned by chlorine in Warsaw

Mass chlorine poisoning occurred in a swimming pool in Warsaw, RMF FM radio station reported.

“Mass poisoning occurred in a swimming pool in Warsaw. 23 people who were swimming in the Polonez OSiR pool in Warsaw’s Targówek district have symptoms of chlorine poisoning. Rescuers took 21 people, among them children, to hospitals,” – stated in the message.

It is noted that at the time of hospitalization, all the victims were conscious. In total, about 60 people were evacuated from the pool.

According to the radio station, water samples, which were immediately taken in the pool, showed multiple exceeding the norm of chlorine content.

“At the bottom of the pool was found 8.03 milligrams of chlorine per liter at a norm of 0.3-0.7, on the surface 2.41 milligrams at a norm of 0.3-0.7”, – stated in the message.

At the same time, representatives of rescue services assure that local residents are not threatened.
