The European Commission offered American entrepreneur Elon Musk a secret deal on censorship in the social network X owned by him, Musk himself reported.
“The European Commission offered X an illegal secret deal: if we quietly censored speech without telling anyone, they wouldn’t fine us. Other platforms accepted this deal. X no,” – wrote in social network X Musk, quoted by the publication “Strana.ua”.
The entrepreneur published a post about the secret deal after the European Commission accused the social network X of violating EU law, for which it faces a hefty fine.
Since August last year, under EU legislation, major Internet companies have been obliged to take measures against false information on their platforms.
