The ceremony of the official meeting between Putin and Kim Jong-un has begun in Pyongyang
The official meeting ceremony between Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has begun in Pyongyang, taking place in Kim Il-sung Square.
After the welcoming ceremony and joint photography, Russian-Korean talks will be held at the state residence Geumsusan.
As noted by Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, Putin and Kim Jong-un will discuss the international agenda, outline ways to restore humanitarian ties, which were interrupted due to the pandemic. In addition, the politicians will touch upon security issues, cooperation in economy, energy, transport and agriculture.
The programme of the visit includes a gala concert in honour of Putin’s arrival, a state reception and a wreath-laying ceremony at the Liberation Monument dedicated to the Red Army soldiers who liberated Korea during World War II.
