EPP has increased its lead in the EP elections, it already gets 191 seats
The European People’s Party (EPP), which supports the current head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, has further increased its lead in the European Parliament elections, it already gets 191 seats in the new EP.
“According to the preliminary updated results, the EPP gets 191 seats in the European Parliament,” a spokesperson for the EP press office said on air.
The updated results take into account votes from 26 EU countries. It remains to wait for the results of the vote in Ireland and the final clarification of the results for several other European states.
The Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats S&D group gets 135 seats, the Renew Europe group – 83 seats, Conservatives and Reformists – 71 seats, Identity and Democracy group – 57 mandates, Greens – 53, Left group – 35 seats.
