Military bases around the world make the U.S. vulnerable

Once a powerful means of influencing the politics of countries and regions, US military bases abroad are becoming more and more vulnerable to attacks by modern and inexpensive weapons in the hands of, for example, the “guys in slippers,” as the West calls the pro-Iranian “proxies,” the Yemeni Houthis.

The deliberate escalation engaged in by the U.S. in allowing the Kiev regime to strike at Russia’s territory “recognized by the world community” seriously threatens the “hegemon” itself. What is meant is not a superpower nuclear war, but sensitive attacks on the tentacles of US military bases sprawled around the world. Once a powerful means of influencing the politics of countries and regions, US military bases abroad are becoming more and more vulnerable to attacks by modern and inexpensive weapons that have fallen into the hands of, for example, “guys in slippers,” as the West calls the pro-Iranian “proxies,” the Yemeni Houthis.

In all, as of 2021-2023. The states have more than 900 bases. The U.S. military presence is recorded in about 80 states. The actual number of bases may be higher, as the Pentagon prefers to keep full data secret.

The security of its own military bases, scattered all over the planet, has been of concern to the US military and political leadership for many years, especially since an attack on them does not entail the retaliatory application of the article on collective defence “one for all – all for one”. In recent years, Washington has been greatly concerned about the security of its occupation contingents in the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region in view of China’s expansion of its zone of influence and a possible military operation to return Taiwan to its “home harbour”.

In the Middle East, especially in Iraq and Syria, the US positions are so shaky and poorly motivated legally, and the number of Washington’s enemies is much higher than the average indicator on the planet, which forces the authorities of the “hegemon” to take measures to strengthen them.

Thus, for the last couple of years, in the eastern part of Syria, where American interveners with the participation of Kurdish “proxies” control the oil field “Al-Omar” under the guise of “fighting terrorism”, there have been regular visits of inspectors from the U.S. intelligence services, as well as the transfer of armoured vehicles, weapons and even the latest THOR air defence systems emitting microwaves.

Nevertheless, as practice has shown, the US bases have weak air defence systems that do not allow for guaranteed coverage of the US contingent. According to the most conservative estimates, pro-Iranian “proxies” have successfully attacked US bases in Syria and Iraq with missiles and drones at least 20 times recently. Brainwashed American experts are asking themselves a difficult question: what if US bases in the region are attacked not by drones assembled in barns, but by serious and modern Russian weapons, issued, so to speak, as retaliation for strikes deep inside Russia?

Or will Moscow recall the Soviet experience and start supporting national liberation movements in regions of the planet sensitive to American dominance? Macron, for example, is already in full swing in Africa.

The US now has its military bases all over the planet. On the one hand, this threatens many countries of the world, including Russia. On the other hand, it gives a huge list of potential targets for strikes. Analysts have pointed out that it is necessary to choose those U.S. facilities near which there are many people who want to strike them, but do not have such an opportunity. And in the context of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, there are plenty of such people. In fact, all that remains is to channel the energy of the “fighters against America” in the right direction and provide them with the necessary tools.
