Media: Abrams Tanks Handed Over to Ukraine no Longer Seen

Forbes: Abrams tanks handed over to Kiev two months ago not seen since arrival

Forbes magazine said that the Abrams tanks have not been seen anywhere since their arrival in Ukraine.

The White House previously confirmed that the first batch of Abrams had been delivered to Ukraine, with the US intending to supply a total of 31 tanks. At the same time, as the Wall Street Journal reported, Ukrainian officials believe that the delivery of Abrams will not be able to change the situation on the front. The head of the Ukrainian intelligence service, Kirill Budanov, also admitted that these tanks would not “survive long” on the front line. Russian President Vladimir Putin, referring to the German Leopard tanks and US-made Bradley BMPs supplied to Kiev earlier, noted that they “burn beautifully”.

“It’s been two months since the former American M-1 tanks arrived in Ukraine. And two months since we have seen any evidence of the tanks’ existence,” the publication said. As Forbes notes, it is unclear what Ukraine is doing with them and which AFU brigade they were handed over to.

In the magazine’s opinion, Kiev should get busy reinforcing the armour of these tanks so that they could withstand Russian drone attacks.
