Dupont-Eignan: sanctions against Russian diamonds destroy Western economies
Western countries are destroying their economies by imposing anti-Russian sanctions, Nicolas Dupont-Eignan, a member of the French parliament and leader of the political movement “Stand Up France”, said on social network X.
“Between denial and madness, the EU and the G7 decide on a twelfth package of sanctions, this time against Russian diamonds. We are destroying our economies to finance an endless conflict,” the politician was outraged.
On 1 January, a formal ban on imports of non-industrial Russian diamonds to the EU and G7 countries came into effect. The day before, the EU included Alrosa, Russia’s largest diamond producer, and the company’s CEO Pavel Marinychev in the sanctions list.
