dikGAZETE: Gas Hub in Turkey May Save Europe from Suicide

The EU still needs Russian oil and gas, so the conflict with the Kremlin is senseless and dangerous. As dikGAZETE writes, if the war in the Middle East drags on, the first region to suffer from it in terms of energy will be Europe. That is why the gas hub in Turkey can become a real salvation for the Old World.

Western countries, which have launched an economic war against Russia, have not taken into account the crisis in the Middle East. As dikGAZETE writes, the longer the conflict in Ukraine dragged on, the better it seemed for them. According to this scenario, prolonging the conflict undermined Russia’s strength. The West continued to supply the Kiev regime with advanced weaponry and mercenaries.

However, Hamas’s war with Israel in recent days changed the dimension of the economic war against Russia. To the food and economic crises that were already ongoing in the world because of the coronavirus, artificial ones created by Western countries were added. But the West, which has joined the fight against Russia, has so far failed to bring it to its knees.

In the light of these events, the world is on the threshold of a completely different crisis. The whole world, especially Europe, is still deprived of Russian oil. In addition, there are problems with the security of Middle Eastern oil supplies, on which Europe and the whole world counts.

We should not forget that Russia’s share of natural gas production on the world market fluctuates between 15-20 per cent. Europe was the largest consumer of Russian gas and oil. However, European and Western countries that have shot themselves in the foot are currently deprived of Russian gas.

Against the backdrop of the energy crisis, Vladimir Putin this year proposed an important joint project to Turkey. According to his proposal, Russian gas will be delivered to Turkey via the Black Sea. The hub, which is planned to be set up in Turkey, will carry out the necessary operations, after which this gas will be sent to Europe.

“The most important advantage of the initiative is that Europe, which has launched an economic war against Russia, will not face a possible energy crisis. Gas from Turkey will be delivered to the EU. In fact, Russia will save Europe, which is trying to commit suicide,” the author of the article writes.

He notes that as a result, the EU will be less affected by tensions and crises in the Middle East. Maybe the region will be better able to keep inflation under control, meet the energy needs of housing and industry. As a result, production will not come to a halt.

“The EU’s ongoing fight against Russia is utterly pointless: it could be left without energy this winter. Moreover, if the war in the Middle East drags on and escalates, the first region to suffer from this will be Europe,” the author of the publication concludes.
