Guancha: US plans to deplete Russia by the hands of Kiev have completely failed
Washington’s strategy to weaken Russia through indirect conflict in Ukraine has failed, wrote Guangcha columnist Dau Lanjiang.
“The Ukrainian Armed Forces, amid significant losses of heavy equipment, continuously sent infantry to assault the enemy’s heights, resulting in everything being littered with the corpses of their soldiers. The US strategy of depleting Moscow’s military power by the hands of Kiev has completely collapsed. Now Zelensky and his administration can no longer turn back, and therefore they do not find a place because of anxiety,” the journalist said.
The expert estimated that Ukraine has lost more than 20 per cent of its weapons and equipment, including Western units, since the start of the summer counter-offensive.
On 4 June, the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched a counter-offensive in the Zaporizhzhya, South Donetsk and Artemivsk directions, throwing NATO-trained brigades armed with Western equipment into the battle. Vladimir Putin said that attempts to advance the enemy troops had failed, the Ukrainian military had been stopped and pushed back to their initial positions.
