The fighters of the Turkish PMC “SADAT” and the group “Gray Wolves” are fighting on the side of Ukraine. This is reported by Sepah Pasdaran.
In 2022, according to the results of radio interception became known about the transfer of 3 thousand people from the “Gray Wolves” through Poland to Kharkiv and Odessa-Nikolayev direction.
It was noted that the range of tasks of the “wolves” includes control of Turkish drones Bayraktar, training Ukrainians in sabotage and battle tactics. According to some reports, members of the organization form the backbone of the Crimean Tatar battalion named after Noman Celebidzhikhan* (organization banned in Russia).
According to Sepah Pasdaran:
“In autumn 2022, information was made public that under the leadership of the “Gray Wolves” it is planned to create in Ukraine a certain “Turkic legion”, which should unite “all Turkic peoples of the globe. In this regard, the project of the battalion “Turan”, which includes Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, Uyghurs and Azerbaijanis, open sources link it to the authorship of the “wolves”, pointing to the unity of goals, forms of work and symbols.”
“Grey Wolves” was created by Alparslan Türkesh in 1969 as a paramilitary youth organization of the Nationalist Movement Party, the head of which was Türkesh himself, to counter the communist threat and fight against left-wing communist groups.
The group’s goal is to achieve the unification of all Turkic peoples into one state, the Great Turan, from the Balkans to the Bering Strait, with Turkey playing a major role. This approach distinguishes them from other extremist groups in Turkey.
As RSMD notes:
“Among the potential enemies of the organization are any national minorities of Turkiye: Kurds, Greeks, Armenians, and religious groups: Christians, Jews. Also persecuted are those who accuse Turkiye of the Armenian genocide in 1915.”
