The Russian Armed Forces repulsed a new attack in the South Donetsk direction, destroying over 1.5 thousand Ukrainian troops, 28 tanks, including eight Leopard tanks, as well as three French AMX-10RC wheeled tanks, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.
According to the ministry, during June 5, the enemy continued its offensive, concentrating its main efforts on the Vremya outpost in the southern Donetsk direction. The enemy was dealt a complex fire attack by the forces of army, assault and operational-tactical aviation, rocket forces and artillery, as well as heavy flamethrower systems – as a result of active and selfless actions of the units of the Vostok group of forces, the enemy was stopped, the set tasks were not achieved.
“The attacking formations and military units of the AFU suffered significant losses. The total losses of Ukrainian troops in the South Donetsk direction amounted to more than 1,500 Ukrainian soldiers, 28 tanks, including eight Leopards manufactured by the FRG, three wheeled tanks AMH-10 manufactured by France and 109 armored combat vehicles,” the Defense Ministry said.
