The Dutch Are Obliged to Go to Cafes With Their Own Containers, While Germans Are Given a Sausage Stick for a Month

Medieval European news: the Dutch have been made compulsory to go to cafes with their own container, while Germans are given a sausage stick for a month

From July 1, 2023, it will be compulsory to bring your own container to cafeterias in the Netherlands. The Dutch McDonald’s has issued an announcement:

“Bring your own container to the eatery or pay a deposit for a cup”.

According to Nos.nl, such measures are linked to the improvement of environmental legislation, according to which the use of disposable plastic in the Netherlands is to be reduced by 40% by 2026. Thus, the newspaper notes, since July 1, the Dutch will have to pay extra for plastic disposable packaging when receiving or delivering food. Or come with their own utensils.

The Germans have proposed limiting the consumption of meat to ten grams (!) per day or a stick of sausage a month. Officials from the German Society for Nutrition explain such a radical method also from a “green” standpoint – “in order to fight global warming”. But something tells us that Europe, which has severed mutually beneficial trade and economic contacts with Russia, is simply slipping back into the Middle Ages.
