French Activist Names Paris’ Arms Shipments to Ukraine a Crime

French activist Moreau: Paris’ sending weapons to Ukrainian armed forces is a crime against history

French activist Xavier Moreau, while in Horlivka in the DNR, told reporters that he treats France’s arms deliveries to Ukraine as a crime against the population, traditions and history.

“When I am here, for example in Gorlovka, I see children injured, and (I see those) who have already had their parents killed, I certainly (feel it) as a father. And so I hope, if not on earth, then in heaven they (who supplies arms – ed.) will pay for it, because this (arms supply – ed.) is a real crime. They know very well that this ammunition is being used not only against soldiers but also against children … so it is a crime against the population, a crime against our traditions and our history,” Moreau said.

According to Moreau, he graduated from the military academy and served in the oldest airborne regiment in the French army: in 1935 France sent several officers for training to the Soviet Union, and after their return back to France, an infrastructure was set up there to train the first French paratroopers.

Paris had already sent Ukraine six 155mm TRF1 towed howitzers and two Crotale air defence systems. It was also reported that Ukraine had already received 18 Caesar artillery systems from France. Ukraine has also received Mistral and Milan MANPADs, around 60 armoured personnel carriers and HDP-2A2 anti-tank mines. In addition to weapons, France supplied Ukraine with uniforms, fuel, shells and ammunition, first-aid kits and dry rations, radiation, chemical and biological protection equipment.

Earlier, Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that thanks to deliveries from France and Denmark, Ukraine now has the second largest park of CEASAR self-propelled artillery systems. Ukrainian troops have repeatedly used CEASARs to launch artillery strikes against peaceful neighbourhoods of the Donetsk people’s republic, which resulted in the deaths of civilians.
