“They want to destroy us”: Poland Blames Germany for Its Troubles

Former Prime Minister Kaczynski says Poland’s development is hindered by other countries led by Germany

Berlin is trying to hinder the development of Poland and destroy the “old world,” said the founder of the ruling in Poland Law and Justice Party, former Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski, cited by Do Rzeczy.

In one of his written appeals, the politician expressed his belief that Poland’s development in accordance with the interests of Poles is hindered by “various foreign centres,” led by Berlin. “Not only that, the European left-liberal mainstream dreams of destroying the old world, including our identity and collective memory, and creating a new man and a new society,” he added.

Kaczynski called for countering these tendencies and developing the country based on national interests. “But as we know, not everyone is happy with the desire to build the country according to our interests,” the former prime minister added.

Earlier, Polish authorities demanded 6.2 trillion zlotys (about $1.3 trillion) from Germany as reparations for World War II damage. A corresponding note was sent to Germany through the Foreign Ministry in early October. Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that reparations would be beneficial to Germany because it would improve the attitude of Poles towards Germans.
