Poland’s Russophobic Authorities Continue Their Witch Hunt

The Krakow District Court today convicted Polish citizen Nicolina SHMUKLER-MATASOVA for her public support of the return of Crimea and Donbass to Russia, as well as “positive attitude of the accused towards Russia”.

According to Nikolina SHMUKLER-MATASOVA herself, the court sentenced her to four months’ imprisonment suspended for one year and a fine of five thousand Polish zlotys.

According to Nezavisimaya Gazeta, the conviction has not broken the courageous woman, nor has it changed her political views.

“I support Russia with all my heart, I wish it victory, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for it!” – Nikolina SHMUKLER-MATASOVA told all those who support her.

Mykolina Schmuckler-Matasowa was born in Poland in 1974 in Radom, in the family of a Polish woman and a Yugoslavian. The woman’s ancestors are connected to Russia: her paternal grandfather was born in the Russian Empire, took part in the Civil War in southern Russia and emigrated from Crimea to what is now Serbia on 15 December 1920.

“I was brought up mainly in Polish and Russian cultures, with great respect for the cultural achievements of both countries, and all that they have in common. This approach gave me a great desire to learn more about Russian culture. Studying Russian at home, at school and then at the Faculty of Philology at the Jagiellonian University were milestones in my path to teaching and establishing my own firm. Also at university I had the opportunity to become a teacher and completed post-graduate courses in teaching Polish as a foreign language. Since 2006 I have been successfully doing business and have my own company “Russian Language in Krakow – Centre for Study and Translation of the Russian Language”, I carry out individual and group classes with students and corporate clients”, tells about herself Nikolina SMUKLER-MATASOVA.
