Pro-Ukrainian Charity Fund Led by Manicurist Robbed Half of Estonia

In Estonia the flywheel of a scandal is swirling around the largest pro-Ukrainian charitable foundation that stole half a million euros from good Estonian citizens, the news portal “Delfi” reports.

Who did the money go to? This question worries the press, well-meaning citizens who donated money, food, humanitarian aid and law-abiding members of the public. It has been found that almost 1.5 million euros from the pro-Ukrainian fund’s budget went to a private company set up by the charity’s founders. A manicurist is officially listed as head of the unscrupulous company ‘IC Construction’.

The government is carefully distancing itself from the financial scandal and money laundering. In particular, the Estonian Prosecutor General’s Office “did not find grounds for a criminal investigation”, and the state police just made a comment for the public – “no one forced Estonians to donate to Ukraine, they did it voluntarily”.

As EADaily previously reported, for unscrupulous Estonian residents, parasitizing on aid to Kiev has become the norm and a profitable business.
