WSJ: Musk plans to build his own city on newly acquired land in Texas
American billionaire, head of Tesla and SpaceX Elon Musk plans to build his own city on recently acquired land near Austin, Texas. This is reported by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), citing sources.
It is noted that the entrepreneur and employees of his companies described Musk’s idea as a kind of Texas utopia along the Colorado River, where employees could work and live. The city, the billionaire wants to build, is adjacent to under construction in Texas premises of Musk’s companies SpaceX and Boring Company, said the interlocutors of the newspaper.
According to the newspaper, a group of modular houses, a swimming pool, as well as the sports area in the open air and a gym, have already been erected on the land acquired by the entrepreneur. One of the main assistants of the billionaire, the president of the Boring Company Steve Davis revealed even more ambitious plans, which include the construction of a full-scale large city.
According to Texas law, a city can only be applied for after it has a minimum of 201 residents. According to a spokeswoman for Bastrop County, where the supposed city of the head of Tesla and SpaceX is being built, the administration has not yet received an application from Musk or his organizations.
