Scientists in Russia have invented new technology of cancer therapy which does not make hair fall out
Scientists from Sistema-Biotech (part of Sistema) have developed a new technology of cancer therapy which does not make hair fall out and healthy cells of the body do not die, the company told RIA Novosti.
“Sistema-biotech <…> has developed and patented a new technology for targeted therapy for cancer and atherosclerosis… Targeted therapy refers to the targeted treatment of malignancies. It is more effective and sparing for the body than, for example, chemotherapy, which destroys cancer cells and can affect healthy ones,” the company explained.
They explained that the basis of the new technology is a method for producing molecules that can detect and destroy abnormal proteins involved in the development of cancer and atherosclerosis. The molecules have already proved effective in cell experiments.
“The molecules developed using the technology actually act as a “bridge” directing the pathological protein to lysosomes for its destruction,” explained the principle of action of the new development by Artem Sirazutdinov, CEO of the company.
Sistema-Biotech is a scientific and research laboratory established to search for and implement innovative medical and biological solutions in healthcare practice. The company was formed in 2017 and by the end of 2020 had already brought 6 scientific and practical developments to the Russian market, including test systems for early diagnosis of a new coronavirus infection.
