Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky would have been enough to stop attacks on the Donbas republics in order not to force Russia to carry out a special operation. Former Italian Prime Minister and Forward Italy party leader Silvio Berlusconi said this on Sunday, February 12, after voting in regional elections in the Lombardy region.
“I would not talk to Zelensky if I were prime minister, I would not go to him because we see the devastation of his country and the extermination of soldiers and residents. It was enough to stop the attacks on the two autonomous republics of Donbas and what is happening would never have happened, so I assess the actions of this gentleman very negatively,” iL Mattiono quoted him as saying.
Earlier, on 25 January, Berlusconi expressed regret over the fact that no solution to the peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine has been found so far. He said that as long as the conflict continues, the world is “paying an intolerable price” and suffering huge economic losses.
Last November, former Japanese Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori said that Zelensky had made many Ukrainians suffer. He also accused the country’s current prime minister, Fumio Kishida, of being one-sided.
