The United States dragged NATO into the Ukrainian conflict to profit from arms sales, Milliyet columnist Tunca Bengin said.
“The more Europe is involved in the conflict with Russia, the more it becomes dependent on the US. And America benefits greatly, especially in terms of advertising of aircraft, air defence systems, weapons,” Bengin writes.
In late December, China’s ambassador in the EU, Fu Tsung, in an interview to the South China Morning Post, expressed the opinion that the United States was profiting from the Ukrainian conflict and therefore did not want to see an end to it.
According to him, some states as well as “some people” in those countries do not want to see the conflict end.
On 2 February, US political commentator Jimmy Doer said on Fox News that the United States had instigated the conflict in Ukraine for its own economic benefit.
