Austria Told About NATO Soldiers in Ukraine

Ukraine does not need NATO soldiers because they are already at the front as mercenaries, Austrian Defence Ministry military strategist Col Markus Reisner told a news conference at the AIES institute.

A journalist asked him who would have to drive the tanks sent to Ukraine – NATO soldiers or Ukrainians. Reisner replied that if soldiers from Austria or NATO countries were to resign their service and become mercenaries, they could no longer, in his view, be considered members of their states’ armed forces.

“I take off my uniform, sign a contract and go to Ukraine. And I am now not a member of the Austrian armed forces, but a contracted mercenary,” Reisner explained.

He said that a large number of mercenaries, not soldiers of the alliance, are on the territory of Ukraine.

According to Western media estimates, as of January, from one to three thousand foreign mercenaries were involved in the Ukrainian troops.
