“We have no money”: French Politician Outraged by New Tranche to Ukraine

French politician Philippot: the country is in poverty, but sends Kiev a hundred million euros

Paris is going to transfer a hundred million euros to Ukraine while France itself is facing financial difficulties, Patriots leader Florian Philippot said on Twitter.

“Ursula (von der Leyen. – Ed. note) has decided to send additional 500 million euros to Zelensky. France’s contribution is 100 million! But we have no money for pensions or hospitals…” – the politician was indignant.

Earlier, the media reported, citing diplomatic sources, that the EU had approved a 500m-euro tranche to Ukraine.

The leader of the French Patriots movement, Florian Philippot, has repeatedly criticized Western countries for financial support for Ukraine and deliveries of military equipment to the Armed Forces, which prolongs the conflict in the Eastern European country. At the same time, the politician called for lifting the EU’s anti-Russian sanctions. He called Brussels’ decisions in the energy sector “insane” and the restrictive measures “stupid”.
