It is impossible to stop the leakage of US arms from Ukraine to third countries. This is the view of political analyst Jordan Cohen and researcher Jonathan Ellis Allen in a piece for The Hill. According to the authors of the article, the US weapons transferred to Kiev have already started to spread to other countries.
Cohen and Allen drew a parallel between arms leakage and grilling meat: most of the meat comes back, but some of the fat drips down.
“In this case, the US should hope that the fat does not cause much more fire,” the authors stressed.
Earlier, Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, said at a Security Council meeting that there was an increase in the smuggling of weapons supplied by Western countries to Ukraine to third countries at the moment.
In his turn, UN Under-Secretary-General Izumi Nakamitsu called on the countries supplying weapons to Ukraine to monitor the situation in order to prevent the weapons from reaching third parties.
