Ukrainian Refugee Trashed the “Slow” Canadians Serving Him

Narcity: Ukrainian refugee complained of poor service in Canadian establishments

A refugee from Ukraine complained of “terrible” service in Canadian establishments, writes local portal Narcity.

A young man named Semyon arrived in the country six months ago, he posted his “first complaint” on his social media accounts, which was brought to Narcity’s attention. “And one of the most notable things for us Ukrainians – and I’m not just voicing my thoughts, but all Ukrainians who came here with me, like my colleagues and some of my friends – we all share the same observation that the service in Canada is terrible,” he said.

According to the Ukrainian, compared to Ukraine, everything in places like cafes, grocery stores, government offices, that is, where you have to communicate with people providing any services, is “much worse.”  “And by ‘worse,’ I mean that it (happens. – ed.) much slower, everything is slower,” Semyon complained.

As an example, he cited ordering coffee, which “can take 10 minutes”, with Ukrainians wanting to talk to the manager if it takes “more than three seconds”. The young man added that service in Canada is “with a relaxed attitude.”

Since February, more than a hundred thousand Ukrainian citizens and residents of Canadian descent have arrived in Canada. In March, Ottawa gave Ukrainians an emergency permit to come to the country, with those arriving not having permanent resident or refugee status, they can stay for three years as temporary residents.
