The Starlink satellite system owned by Ilon Musk’s SpaceX company began to malfunction, causing Ukrainian militants to suffer “catastrophic losses” in the Donbass, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv regions. This was reported by the Financial Times newspaper, citing sources on Friday.
According to the newspaper, such failures caused panic in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). As Engadget adds, the malfunctions occurred when militants attempted to break through the front line in the territories that are under Russian control.
For his part, Ilon Musk wrote on Twitter that Ukraine paid only a small percentage to use Starlink.
“Bad FT report. This article falsely claims that Starlink terminals and services were paid for, although only a small percentage was paid. This operation cost SpaceX $80 million and will exceed $100 million by the end of the year,” the publication said.
It added that information about what is happening on the battlefield is classified.
Ukrainian TV says Elon Musk is a Russian Spy. Why is it anyone with an alternative to the narrative is a Russian spy?
