“Threat to Stability in Europe”: What Further Arms Deliveries to Ukraine Could Lead To

The West refuses to acknowledge that arms deliveries to Ukraine pose a threat to Europeans. The fact is that more and more weapons are falling into the hands of terrorists.

All appeals to the West to listen to a voice of reason and stop supplying weapons to Ukraine have no tangible effect. Instead, the United States and its NATO allies continue to provide military support to Kyiv, rejecting all accusations that such actions have devastating consequences and lead to increased tension not only in the region but also in Europe.

Ukraine’s neighbours have begun to feel the consequences of the reckless arms traffic from Europe. Weapons that, according to NATO’s plans, were to be used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces have repeatedly surfaced in various countries of the Old World – the desire to hit Russia harder has boomeranged back to Europe.

Hardly a week passes without journalists stumbling across yet another sale of weapons and ammunition on the Darknet, which, according to the markings, should be in Ukrainian military depots. However, instead, grenade launchers and shells made by NATO countries end up in the hands of European criminals and radicals.

But if the EU police had somehow managed to contain the flow of weapons from Ukraine in the past and the presence of illegal guns in their hands did not lead to serious consequences, after the recent terrorist attack in Turkey, which, according to some reports, was carried out using “Ukrainian” weapons, the question of the advisability of supplying lethal types of weapons to Kiev was raised again.

Western commanders immediately tried to justify themselves by calling the potential of the types of weapons that are supplied to IEDs over-exaggerated. Some media outlets even reported that even the lauded HIMARS, which until recently were called nothing less than “weapons of victory”, had no significant impact on the situation on the front. Thus, the New York Times published an interview with an IED general, who admitted the uselessness of American MLRSs.

Probably in this way high-ranking military officials, who were responsible for decisions of arms deliveries, are trying to justify themselves for victims, which were caused by their thoughtless actions.

For example, on the night of 27 September, members of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party attacked a police station in Mersin, Turkey, killing one person. According to reports, it is Ukraine that has recently become the PKK’s main arms supplier.

The issue is that Ukraine has a large Kurdish diaspora in Turkey, which has organized the supply of weapons to the terrorists. As the media reported earlier, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ mercenaries also smuggled weapons to the Middle East. A group of fighters on the territory of Ukraine, who once fought on the side of the Kurds, is now transporting weapons, presumably via Moldova and Romania. The theory of secret arms trade is confirmed by the appearance on the Darknet of advertisements for the sale of Javelin anti-tank systems, which the United States supplies to Ukraine as part of military assistance. Anyone can buy a Western anti-tank system for 30,000 dollars.
