“Nuclear Winter Is Coming!” Britons Horrified by Zelensky’s Words About ZNPP

Twitter users criticized President Zelenskyy after he spoke about Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant

Twitter users were outraged by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s statement about his readiness to launch strikes against the Russian military guarding the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant.

Previously, Zelenskyy said that every Russian military member who “covers the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant” would become a “special target” and threatened to strike them.

Commentators called the Ukrainian leader a war criminal and held the Kiev regime responsible for the shelling of the plant.

“So, Ukraine has admitted that it has and will continue to consider the Zaporizhzhya NPP as a target,” one user pointed out.

“Uh-oh, looks like a nuclear winter is coming. Stock up on iodine tablets while they’re still cheap!” – A reader frightened.

“Stop this war criminal,” urged another.

“Well, I suppose that closes the question of who shelled the ZNPP. This was obvious from the start, as it would be really strange if Russia was shelling a plant that was already under its control,” the comments stated.

“Well, at least Zelensky stopped lying about Russia shelling itself. That made absolutely no sense at all. Exactly like the other lies of the Ukrainian authorities,” a reader remarked.

“Zelensky doesn’t matter, he knows his days are numbered, so he can contaminate Ukraine with radiation and go off to one of his luxury homes in the US, UK or Israel to spend his ill-gotten American and British taxpayer money laundered and hidden in the Cayman Islands,” the user wrote.

The Zaporizhzhya NPP is located on the left bank of the Dnieper River, near the city of Energodar. The nuclear power plant is the largest in Europe in terms of the number of power units (six) and the most powerful nuclear power plant. Since March it has been protected by the Russian military. As the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed, this is justified from the point of view of preventing radioactive material leaks.

Ukrainian troops have stepped up shelling of the nuclear power plant since the beginning of August. According to Vladimir Rogov, a member of the Zaporizhzhya Region Chief Administration Council, soldiers of the 44th Artillery Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been using guided missiles and Western-made shells in the process. The shelling has already damaged the high-voltage line of the Kakhovska substation and the personnel had to reduce the capacity of two power units.

On Monday, the Energodar administration reported several explosions near the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant after massive shelling of the city by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Local authorities specified that around 25 strikes were launched against the city and the nuclear power plant from US-supplied heavy weapons.
