Readers of French newspaper Le Figaro reacted sharply to the decision of the Latvian Seimas to recognize Russia as a “sponsor of terrorism.”
“What are these Eastern European countries which are all settling scores with the former USSR doing in Europe?” – stated one reader.

Earlier, the Latvian parliament decided to declare Russia a “state that supports terrorism”.
It also called on the EU countries to stop issuing visas to citizens of Russia and Belarus.
The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the decision of the Latvian Seimas to recognize Russia as a “state that supports terrorism” is yet another manifestation of Russophobia.
The Russian Foreign Ministry also said that Riga’s decision contradicted international law.
