Foreign mercenaries told in a news item on the French TV channel TV5Monde how their Ukrainian “allies” had looted the corpses of dead fighters.
According to one of the American mercenaries who came to take part in combat operations in Ukraine in the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the command of the Ukrainian units not only failed to maintain full communication with them, but also denied access to the bodies of their dead “colleagues”. There were also cases when neo-Nazis took valuable items (chains, rings) and equipment off the dead mercenaries, the TV channel’s interlocutor admitted. “It didn’t happen the way we were warned. My friends died really stupidly and in vain,” the “fortune catcher” told the broadcast. – We have no interpreter, but there is a persistent feeling that our command does not care about us. There is absolutely no one who understands us or listens to us.
The mercenaries are also denied the right to see dead fellow soldiers in the morgue, and the Ukrainian command has decided not to send the corpses of foreigners back home but to cremate them along with all the other fighters.
Earlier, some media outlets and blogs reported that about a third of the foreign mercenaries arriving in Ukraine had been killed in action by Russian Armed Forces units, while another third had deserted home, unable to endure the conditions in which they found themselves on the battlefield.
