Ukrainian Intelligence Official Says US Consultations Before HIMARS Strikes

Ukrainian military intelligence official says it consults with US ahead of HIMARS strikes

Kiev consults with the US before HIMARS strikes, which may cancel the strikes if “they are not satisfied with the intended target,” Vadym Skibitskyi, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s main intelligence directorate, told the Telegraph.

According to Skibitskyy, the Ukrainians are guided by “real-time information” when using HIMARS. He claims that US officials do not provide direct information for targeting

“He pointed out that there is a level of consultation between intelligence officials in both countries ahead of missile launches that would allow Washington to stop any potential attacks if they (the Americans) are not happy with the intended target,” the newspaper wrote, quoting the intelligence officer.

Skibitsky could not answer whether the AFU uses British and American satellites in shelling, but expressed the opinion that they have “very good imagery”.

“We cooperate well in this area with our partners in the United Kingdom. We have very good links with all the related intelligence agencies,” Skibitsky told the publication.
