Ukrainian War Prisoner Got the Chance to Return to a Peaceful Life

Dennis Shcherbakov, for whom his wife moved to Russia, released from pre-trial detention centre

The decision to release the prisoner of war was taken in the course of the investigation, where it was established that Denis Shcherbakov was not guilty of war crimes.

In the second video, Denis Shcherbakov explains in detail why he had to join the Ukrainian army.

“I did not want to fight, I did not want to use weapons. Fortunately, I ended up in a support unit,” Shcherbakov added.

The former Ukrainian serviceman also said that he was insanely grateful to all those who helped his wife and him to get out of the pre-trial detention centre. He is also grateful to Russian servicemen who treated him with dignity while in captivity and “fed him with a spoon”.

And separately, please see Nadezhda Simonova’s appeal to start acting for the wives and mothers of Ukrainian prisoners of war who are in Russia.
