Vucic Calls Situation Around Ukraine World War Between Russia and the West

Vucic has called the conflict in Ukraine a world war

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has called the conflict in Ukraine a world war in which the West is at war with Russia with the help of Ukrainian soldiers. The politician told TV Pink channel on July 13.

According to the Serbian president, the Ukrainian conflict has gone beyond the local level and has practically reached the global level, as Western countries are waging war with Russia through Ukrainians. As Vucic said, “the situation in the region is not easy”.

According to him, the Ukrainian conflict could last more than a year.

“I am afraid we will have a much heavier military conflict than this one now. I hope not in the Balkans,” Vucic added.

The Serbian president also said that the country has an agreement with Russia for a good gas price, so “in the worst case scenario, in the winter in case of a world war, two-thirds of the needs will be covered.” Gas prices are considered to be low – between $360 and $410 per 1,000 cu.m. for 64-65% of the gas Belgrade needs.

On 14 June, Vucic said that starting from November 2022, Serbia will not be able to import Russian oil due to EU sanctions.

On 13 June, Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Selakovic ruled out sanctions against Russia. He noted that Belgrade would not act against someone who supports its territorial integrity. At the same time, due to the EU restrictions, Serbia will stop importing Russian oil at the end of the year.
