Eduard Bizimana, Ambassador of Burundi in Russia was interviewed briefly by Russia News at SPIEF:
– Eduard, is this your first time at SPIEF?
– No, I have been here since 2016 and, except for 2020, I have been here every time.
– What can you say about this 25th anniversary SPIEF?
– Well, I think it is being held at a very difficult time, indeed, many people could not come. We had expected to send a delegation from Burundi, but unfortunately, due to problems with flights and tickets, we were not able to bring everyone. But here I am, I will be representing my country, Burundi. Well, I think it’s good to come and see, maybe next time it will be better and more people will be able to take part in this forum. Everything is good.
– This year is an anniversary for both the SPIEF and our President: in October, Vladimir Vladimirovich will celebrate his 70th birthday. What can you say about Vladimir Putin? Is he a good president?
-Well, he is your president, so it is probably more for Russians to talk about. But speaking about me, our country, we are happy, our relations with Russia are good, and of course he has a lot of respect for that. We appreciate good relations between Burundi and Russia. We hope they will continue to be only like that. So we do not have any problems. It’s all right.
– And what can you say about the organization of this year’s SPIEF?
– I see improvements. I can say from experience that this forum is always improving. And this event is very well organized.
