The American Conservative: Italy, Germany and France Consider Crimea to be Russian

Authorities in Italy, Germany and France do not support Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his demands for Russia to hand over the Crimean peninsula to Ukraine. They want an early settlement of the Ukrainian issue.

This opinion was expressed by journalist Patrick Buchanan in an article for The American Conservative.

“None of them (Italy, France, Germany. – RT) insists on what Vladimir Zelensky occasionally demands: the withdrawal of Russia from the territories it has held since 2014,” Buchanan writes.

On this issue, Kiev has more support from some eastern European countries.

“Ukraine’s independence, territorial integrity and democratic rule, while championed by the United States, are not vital interests,” the article specifies.
