British authorities have extended the possibility of gas payments to Gazprombank until 31 May

The United Kingdom will temporarily continue to pay for gas through Gazprombank, which has been hit by sanctions. This is reported by Interfax, citing the statement of the Office for the Implementation of Financial Sanctions of the UK (OFSI).

It is known that the possibility of payments to Gazprombank or its subsidiaries under the contracts for the gas supply to the European Union was extended until May 31, 2022. The license applies to service contracts signed before its effective date (April 21), reported OFSI.

The UK authorities imposed sanctions against Gazprombank and several other Russian banks on March 24. The companies’ assets in the country were frozen.
