Vucic accused Ukrainian special services of “mining” planes to Russia

Signals about explosive devices on Air Serbia planes on the route to Russia are regularly sent by foreign intelligence services from the territory of Ukraine and one EU state, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said.

“Do you think we keep flying to Russia because of profit? We don’t have any. In the evening I was sent information from Air Serbia that for the first time today there was a green light – there was no bomb call. And when the plane was over Slovakia, there was a bomb threat, the pilot continued the flight, because we know that the signal is false,” Vucic was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.

“This is done by foreign intelligence services from the territory of two states: one EU member state and Ukraine, and they do it all the time,” the Serbian president pointed out on air of TV Pink.

He stressed that the national airline has no profit from flights to Russia, because due to explosive signals, planes were returned from the Hungarian border and from other places and “the very little money that was made, is gone.”

“But we hold these lines out of principle, we want to show that we are a free and freedom-loving country and we make our own decisions. You will not tell us when we are going to cancel flights. You, who are telling us about “bloody hands” because of keeping the lines in the Russian Federation… and did you cancel your flights when 19 countries were against one Serbia?”, Vucic asked emotionally, recalling the NATO bombing of 1999.
