Reuters: Indian Oil Corporation has excluded Russian Urals crude from the tender

The Indian state-owned company also rejected other oil grades, including Das, Eugene Island and Thunder Horse

India’s state-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has ruled out of its latest tender the Russian Urals oil as well as a number of other oil grades. It is reported by Reuters, citing sources.

According to the agency, in addition to Urals, the Indian company has refused to and other brands of crude oil, including Das, Eugene Island and Thunder Horse. It is noted that the tender for supply of oil ended April 12.

Indian Oil Corporation is buying crude oil for its own needs and for its subsidiary Chennai Petroleum, Reuters noted. According to the source, now a “subsidiary” of IOC plans to get a low-sulfur crude oil instead of high sulfur grades. The reasons for such a decision are not mentioned.
