Alistair E Scott: “ Business as Usual?”

Alistair E Scott: “ Business as Usual?”

If only that was true. The wide ranging, all encompassing sanctions against Russia are of course causing problems in every walk of life for both businessmen and the general public here in the West. My company, Sinergy Global, is fortunately a South African company where sanctions are not imposed against Russia, but we are still attempting to get gas supplies from Russia for clients in China without success, although I am hopeful that a beleaguered Gazprom may yet come to our rescue and provide us with the product we so need.

I say beleaguered because they themselves are in the middle of a global war with the US and her allies in terms of trade sanctions, yet they are repositioning themselves with considerable business acumen in order to ride out a storm which looks set to rage for quite some time. To date, the predictions of many would appear to be coming to roost in so far as the sanctions look to be back firing on those who have imposed them.

The US vehemently pushed Europe into sanctioning Russian energy products and now that supply is beginning to bite us here, the US had ensured that they were in a position to ride out this storm, leaving their partners caught with their trousers down. As the US talk of opening up their oil reserves, it is debatable exactly how long they might last, but as we already know, they have been in talks with arch enemies Iran and Venezuela about supply. An irony not lost on their respective leaders.

The European position is very different. There are fractures in the EU already as not all members agree with the EU leadership over sanctions. The recent election win in Hungary was claimed to be a victory for the anti US interventionists as their President stated that they will not be told who they should and should not deal with, hence their neutrality. And they are not the only ones who will be breaking EU ranks.

Meanwhile in Germany, they are going to have to make that final decision as to whether they let their people freeze, or continue with getting their supplies from Russia. Qatar, a major supplier of gas has already stated that even with their vast resources, they would be unable to fill everyone’s demands in the void left by the Russian sanctions. So what now for the Allies?

Many local garages in the UK are already suffering from fuel shortages as the propaganda headlines frighten the public into panic buying, and the prices at the pumps have risen massively. This is not, however, an isolated storyline. This is being echoed everywhere, and causing great consternation in the US in particular.

More alarming is the continued rise in gas and electric prices for households. This is a very hot topic at this time in the UK, although we know that it is not a problem caused solely by Russia as we are led to believe, but plain and simple bad management of the economy by the government. Inflation is rising at an alarming rate, but Russia makes a very good scapegoat for anything that goes wrong as I have pointed out in previous musings of mine.

Yes, the imposition of sanctions is causing havoc for the business community, and it is not just in the energy sector. My company is currently trying to fill an order for sunflower oil, but can we source a supply? Now let me see. The current situation in Ukraine has not only taken the Ukraine supply out of the loop, but once again, because of sanctions, Russia, as the world’s leading  producer and now Turkey, who are currently forbidding export. Now given that these countries are by far the largest producers, the demand for the product now has to be filled by the remaining producers, and a quick look at the math tells us that there’s a problem brewing. Prices are rising as demand far outstrips supply, and of course, this same story is going to echo throughout any number of sectors within the food supply sector, and indeed many other crucial supply sectors as Russia is a major supply source for many, many important products vital for everyday life. Talks of upcoming food shortages are already creeping into the media. Keeping the public fear factor act high alert seems to be the order of the day for the main stream media.

Propaganda by the western media continues to stoke the fires of anti Russian sentiment, and if we thought that it had reached its height, then we were to be mistaken. Just an aside at this point because if you also thought that the banning of Russian breed cats at Cat Shows was the height of absurdity, lo and behold, we learn that a famous Russian tree has been banned from a major European Tree competition, the Russian variety I believe having been one of the favourites to win!  That should be some small recompense for the many professional Russian athletes who are suffering in isolation knowing that they now stand alongside their fellow cats and trees, frozen out from world competition.

On a more serious note, Ukrainian President Zelensky seems to be appearing more and more in the media, now a hero to many, thanks to the constant promotion of himself and his message by the main stream media on a global scale, although his demands for all manner of assistance from the West is now reaching the realms of incredulity. I read recently that he suggested that the    $400 billion of frozen Russian forex assets be given to Ukraine, for rebuilding. He has not lost his comic touch, that is funny. Yes, that’s right, $400 billion. Even that amount would look somewhat unusual in his offshore bank accounts, as recently exposed in the Panama Papers.

But now, on a very somber note, his demand that the UN Security Council exclude Russia, and denounce Russian war crimes, and if the latter is not implemented then it should close itself down. There are two very important takeaways from this. The first being that any investigation would have to accept all of the evidence produced without intense scrutiny, and that the investigation team would have to carry a total bias on behalf of Ukraine. It is not to say, however, that this would not be the case as we have witnessed in the past on more than one occasion.

As Ukraine’s situation becomes more desperate on account of the continuing success of President Putin’s Special Operation, media propaganda, as I stated above, has managed to reach new heights. I refer of course to Bucha, and the mountain of graphic photos and witness testimonies produced for public consumption by the Ukrainian authorities. It seems that this avalanche of ‘evidence’, not even alleged evidence, has been consumed without question by the public and the Russian troops are now regarded as barbaric, rapists, torturers etc etc and not one sign anywhere that anything may not be as it seems, despite the fact that on multiple occasions previously, similar ‘evidence’ has been proven to be fake and/or manufactured. The point here of course being that even if it is exposed latterly, they have still managed to direct public opinion when this information was put out. The damage has already been dome and the objective achieved. There are, however, privateers out there who are not under the pay of the main stream media who are thankfully exposing these media crimes and fake news, but the overwhelming volume of anti Russian propaganda drowns out any attempt to expose the truth. Truly despicable, yet ultimately damaging given its sheer volume when pushed on a non suspecting public. The headlines and graphic content as illustrated in the UK press were truly shocking, yet still, there has been no attempt to question the narrative, nor verify the authenticity of the testimonies by any main stream media outlet. The silence is deafening.

The great lie of Bucha is being dismantled bit by bit, photo by photo, witness by witness, but the media have already caused the damage, and unless we see a full investigation by the UN, unbiased and thorough in their work, then the lie will be recorded as fact in history which really is a travesty

The same picture is evident everywhere throughout Ukraine, fake news, outdated news footage, Hollywood style film sets, all having been exposed, yet  general public sentiment has already been set in stone by this criminal misrepresentation of facts and events. I myself am pilloried for suggesting there is anything wrong with the official main stream media narrative, yet the more outrageous the claims, as we see with Bucha, the more that free thinking individuals begin to question and expose what is nothing but shameful propaganda, knowingly propping up a morally bankrupt leadership. Mariupol comes in a close second, but my blood pressure will not allow me to talk on this too after discussing Bucha. Please excuse me.

So, in closing, whilst President Putin’s Special Operation continues apace, on course to achieve its objectives in Ukraine, the western world continues its media onslaught against Russia on all fronts, but falls short of offering direct assistance on the ground. The latter becoming even a more distant possibility as cracks begin to show in the western alliance. Trust in NATO is now definitely an issue as their past military interventions and expansionism comes under more  scrutiny and open discussion, and the part the US is playing with its continued interventionism in world politics, as just exposed by PM Imran Khan in Pakistan as he discovered a plot to overthrow him set by the US. It appears this must be something in their DNA.

I am a businessman with a view on world events. I am not a Russian troll or in the pay of the FSB as suggested by those who oppose my views in social media. I seek truth and don’t accept everything that is written in the main stream media. I take time to research, investigate, enabling me to form an opinion, something everyone can do, but unfortunately do not, and it is this vast majority who fall prey to the whims and narrative of the main stream media who in turn are in the pay of the world’s elite. There was a time when British newspapers, and the BBC were seen as the benchmark for the promoting of freedom of the press and unbiased reporting. The last couple of years have totally shattered the illusion, and current events in Ukraine serve lonely to underline how sad but  true that indictment is.’
