The head of the European Council postponed the EU summit due to suspicions of infection with COVID-19

The head of the European Council Michelle Barend Leits has postponed the EU summit until October 1-2. According to his spokesman, the reason for the transfer was the suspicion of Leates’ infection with the coronavirus.

The summit was supposed to take place on September 24-25. However, today the head of the Council of Europe learned that one of the employees of the Security Service, with whom he was in close contact, had tested positive for COVID-19. According to Belgian rules, Leates must now be in quarantine.
